Mertons was established in 2007 as a boutique consultancy in response to a market need for specialist corporate governance professionals.
Traditionally, clients lacking in-house expertise have engaged legal advisors who may not have been focused nor specifically trained on corporate governance and its commercial implications.
Mertons Director, Mark Licciardo is a former company secretary of ASX listed companies Transurban Group and Australian Foundation Investment Company. His expertise includes working with Boards of Directors in the areas of corporate governance, corporate administration and company secretarial practices. Mark is also the current CSA (Chartered Secretaries Australia) Victorian State Council Chairman.
Associate Consultant, Rodney Davidson is the former Group Company Secretary of Goldman Sachs JB Were. Rodney's duties whilst performing this role included reporting to the Board and General Legal Counsel on statutory requirements with ASIC, ASX, ATO and APRA, managing the corporate ownership and the corporate structure of the group, managing group insurance and, jointly with legal counsel, co-ordinating due diligence of all financial product offerings. Rodney is an active member of Chartered Secretaries Australia, and brings to Mertons a wealth of professional governance experience.
